Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Travel Maps (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the Travel Maps - GPS, Offline mobile application (the “App”). It is intended to align with the data types disclosed in our App Store privacy labels.
1. Overview
Travel Maps is a maps and navigation app. Saved places and preferences are stored on your device. We do not require you to create an account to use the App. Some features rely on third-party partners (including Mapbox for maps and navigation, and Adjust for attribution and analytics when enabled).
2. Information we process
Precise location
With your permission, the App accesses your device’s precise location to show your position on the map, suggest nearby offline map packs, calculate routes, and provide turn-by-turn navigation. Location access may continue in the background while navigation is active so guidance can continue when the App is not in the foreground.
Precise location may be shared with Mapbox to provide maps, directions, and related services. We use location for App Functionality, Product Personalization (such as suggested offline packs), and Analytics related to those services. We do not use precise location for tracking as defined by Apple.
You can control Location Services in iOS Settings. If you deny location access, map browsing may still work, but navigation and location-based features will be limited.
Search history
When you search for cities, addresses, or places, your search queries are sent to Mapbox (geocoding) so we can return results. Search data is used for App Functionality and is linked to your device/session for that request.
Saved places and app data (on device)
Places you save (such as names, notes, categories, and coordinates) are stored locally on your device. We do not operate a Travel Maps cloud account for this data. Destination coordinates used when you request a route may be sent to Mapbox as part of providing directions.
Device ID
Device identifiers (such as an advertising identifier when permitted, or other device/session identifiers) may be collected by us or our partners:
- Mapbox — to operate maps, navigation, and related services
- Adjust (when integrated) — for attribution, campaign measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention
Device IDs may be used for App Functionality, Analytics, Developer’s Advertising or Marketing, and Third-Party Advertising (for example, measuring which ads or campaigns led to an install). When Adjust is enabled, device IDs may be used for tracking as defined by Apple (linking app data with third-party data for advertising measurement).
Product interaction
Information about how you use the App (such as sessions, feature usage, and interaction events) may be collected by Mapbox and, when enabled, Adjust. This data may be used for Analytics, App Functionality, Developer’s Advertising or Marketing, and Third-Party Advertising / attribution. When Adjust is enabled, this may include tracking for advertising measurement.
Crash and performance data
Crash logs and performance metrics (such as launch time, hangs, or energy use) may be collected via Apple’s platforms and/or our service partners to keep the App reliable. We use this data for App Functionality and Analytics related to stability and performance—not for advertising or tracking.
Map, search, and routing partners (Mapbox)
Maps, place search, offline downloads, and directions are provided through Mapbox. Online requests may include coordinates, search queries, and technical identifiers needed to fulfill the request. Mapbox processes data under its own practices: Mapbox Privacy Policy.
Attribution and analytics partner (Adjust)
When Adjust is integrated, Adjust may receive device identifiers, install/session information, and interaction events to measure marketing campaigns, attribute installs, analyze usage, and help prevent fraud. Learn more at Adjust Privacy Policy.
3. How we use information
- Provide maps, search, routing, offline packs, and navigation (App Functionality)
- Suggest relevant offline map packs and similar in-app suggestions (Product Personalization)
- Understand feature usage, reliability, and audience characteristics (Analytics)
- Measure advertising and marketing performance, including attribution via Adjust when enabled
- Remember places and settings you save on your device
- Respond to support requests you send us (for example, by email)
We do not sell your personal information for money.
4. Tracking (Apple)
“Tracking” under Apple’s rules means linking data from our App about you or your device with data from other companies’ apps or websites for targeted advertising or advertising measurement, or sharing such data with a data broker.
Precise location and crash/performance data are not used for tracking. Device IDs and product interaction data may be used for tracking when Adjust (or similar attribution partners) measure advertising campaigns. Where required, we will show Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt before accessing the advertising identifier for that purpose.
5. Sharing
Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate the App, including:
- Mapbox — maps, search, routing, offline map downloads
- Adjust — attribution, analytics, and related advertising measurement (when enabled)
- Apple — App Store distribution, operating-system services, and optional diagnostics you share with Apple
These partners may receive data linked to your device. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the App.
6. Data retention
Locally saved places and preferences remain on your device until you delete them or remove the App. Information processed by Mapbox, Adjust, and Apple is retained according to their policies and what is needed to provide their services.
7. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Your choices
- Manage Location Services for Travel Maps in iOS Settings
- Manage tracking / personalized ads permissions in iOS Settings (and respond to the App Tracking Transparency prompt when shown)
- Delete saved places inside the App

9. International use
Maps, navigation, and attribution features rely on third-party infrastructure that may process data in different countries. By using the App, you understand that such processing may occur as needed to provide the service.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time (for example, when we add Adjust or change partners). The “Effective date” above will be revised when changes are posted. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
